Without a doubt, the holidays are going to look a lot different this year… More chill, more casual, a lot of cozy/comfy styles. However, even if the celebration is only in our living room—and only with my husband and son—I’ll probably still dress up. Pulling on a great dress is a ritual for me. Like decking the tree, it’s part of making the holidays feel special. And there are some incredible deals to score right now! Wondering how to keep the “magic” alive this unusual holiday season? This post is for you! We’ll cover holiday dresses under $60, cozy relaxed options, and an unexpected holiday trend to try.
It’s an interesting question… and the definition is particularly captivating this year, since we lost life’s standard “rule book” months ago. I’d argue that holiday dressing is all about setting the moment apart and forging memories. You don’t need to wear red and green. Rather, it’s about making this a moment. It’s part glitz, part heart; a sartorial way of saying “this matters”. Not sure where to start? I tend to look for the following:
This particular dress (also in black) from Express is an excellent option because it feels luxurious, offers textural details, and is so darn comfy you’d swear you were in your pajamas! We’re talking an “eat all the things” elastic waist, fabric with stretch, and beautiful leopard velvet accents. While this makes the list of holiday dresses under $60, it feels high end due to the fabrication. Additionally, it’s petite-friendly. The slight puff in the sleeve and ruching at the waistline is very figure flattering. I’m just shy of 5′ and wearing the XS for sizing reference. It hits me just above the knee. Need more inspiration? We’re just getting started!

These styles are all super affordable (as low as $18) and range from cozy cute for Christmas to winter wedding guest-ready formal. Many of them are pieces you can easily dress down or up based on your footwear and accessory choices.
Next on our list of holiday dresses under $60? A darling Amazon find! I’ve featured this $30 number before on the blog and will continue to do so, because I wear it so frequently. I’ve donned it for work with tights and boots, for Christmas, and in the summer with strappy sandals. It’s also ideal for Valentine’s Day. You can’t quite make it out in the photos, but the “dots” are actually tiny hearts.
The fabric is a lighter weight and unlined, but not sheer. Wear nude undergarments and you’ll be fine. Note: Do not buy the pink variation of this dress. It’s totally see through! It’s available on Prime (free one day shipping & returns). This dress also has an elastic waist. Supremely comfortable!
While these have been few and far between in 2020, I had to throw in an option for a winter wedding or black tie event because I over the moon in love with this dress. The quality and price point is unbelievable! I was extremely impressed with the fabric. It moves so gracefully. There is a secondary lining in both the skirt and bodice.
In a department store, I would expect to pay $150 or more for a similar style. However, this rings in at just $56. It comes in 5 other color options and would make a wonderful bridal party option. Snag it now and plan ahead for when things open back up!
There is a decent chance many of us may not leave our living rooms this holiday season. Consequently comfort is key! While this post is focused on holiday dresses under $60, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share a couple of laidback/loungewear options. I’m wearing the Kaya Cocoon and Glenwood Legging from Peach.
The cocoon is like wearing a delicious blanket. The French terry fabric is sooo snuggly and it offers an oversize fit perfect for curling up by the fire. You can’t quite make it out in the photo, but the leggings have a slight touch of metallic in the weavve. That lends itself to a “holiday” feel, even though you’re rocking a super casual look. Another fun 2020 holiday trend to try? Jazzed up joggers! Yes ladies, this cozy style is getting a festive twist with sequins, velvet and satin.
Baby it’s cold outside… As much as I adore that song, it…
Between the decorations, the gifts and the travel, the holidays can easily put a major…
