I’m sure I’m not the only woman to admit, I’ve fallen into a bit of a style rut (or should I say black hole?) as a mom. Sure, I pull myself together for blog content and the days I work. However, my daily style is more hot mess than hot mama. Pretty sure I donned a paint-stained, oversize graphic T with various iterations of leggings 3 days in a row this week… Washing it makes it okay, right? I realized my “mom uniform” was in dire need of an update.
Enter Peach. This lifestyle brand marries comfy athletic fabrics with more sophisticated silhouettes—exactly what this mama was looking for.
It can carry you from gym, to work, to toddler chasing. Best of all, Peach pieces are mix and match. They ALL work together. When you have .5 seconds to choose your outfit—or the little one will dump out your entire make-up drawer—ease of outfit selection is crucial!
Savannah Sweater | Kili Legging | Earrings | Booties | Similar Purse
Normally, my “mom uniform” consists of super-cheap athleisure gear. Consequently, Peach was a bit of a departure for me. It’s a slightly higher price point than my norm ($49-$129), but worth every penny! I’ve tested plenty of under $25 leggings—believe me when I tell you—there IS a difference! Quality pieces (like the faux leather Kili) offer much more support, comfort, and coverage.
Futhermore, when building a mom uniform, I’d rather invest in a few standout items than in cheaply made pieces that will look tired after one season.
Here is a look at my favorite items from Peach’s Fall 2019 “Into the Wild” collection. It has such amazing colors and textiles for fall! Plus, Peach offers sizing down to XXS (great for us shorter gals) and up to a 22.
Marula Dress | Booties | Flower Earrings | Purse
First up, the Marula Dress, a mix of French terry and polished satin. Think sweatshirt chic. I dressed mine up with a skinny belt and boots. However, it looks equally at home with sandals or sneakers. Although the shape is simple, the side paneling really elevates the look. I always get a ton of questions when I wear it.
There is a good amount of stretch to the fabric, so it is exceedingly comfy. Who doesn’t love a funnel neckline? To cap it all off, the Marula is a perfect length for petites. I’m just shy of 5′ and didn’t need to hem this at all. Can’t tell you how rare that is!
Mara Moto Jacket | Leopard Sheath (only $25!) | Purse | Bow Heels
Next up, the Mara Moto jacket. I firmly believe every woman needs at least one moto jacket in their closet. They inject such a “cool girl” factor into your wardrobe and are the perfect transitional layering piece for unpredictable fall weather.
If you don’t have one yet, the Mara Moto is a great option. It’s a super soft vegan suede—so delicious you’ll want to cuddle it right up to your nose (not kidding). It comes in khaki, which I am wearing, as well as moss green. The silver detailing and classic motorcyle styling are sure to give any outfit a touch of edge. Talk about versatility!
This fits true to the Peach sizing guide. The sleeves were a tad long on me, so I rolled the cuffs under. Then again, that is totally normal for an under 5′ gal with weirdly short arms (I’m wearing the XS for sizing reference).
Finally, my favorite of the bunch, the Savannah Sweater. This makes polished, layered dressing so easy. It’s my perfect mom uniform! The ribbed fabric of the sweater is such a gorgeous shade for fall and it has a beautiful stretch satin underlay at the hem. Best of all, it’s the perfect “cover your butt” length for pairing with leggings or skinny jeans.
I’m always looking for pieces that offer that type of length. It’s super easy to find tunic styles, but tough to nab something like this that provides such a figure-flattering shape. The sleeves also have slits along the opening for added style. Obsessed with this one!
