Let’s be honest – it’s a jungle out there! Buying swimsuits online is anything but easy. It’s even tougher in the affordable swimwear category, where sizes can be wildly inconsistent. And those brands that try to sell you a bikini that looks nothing like the product photo? Puh-lease! Enter this Cupshe review. If you’ve been asking – Is Cupshe legit? – you’ve come to the right place. We’ll cover sizing, quality and customer service.
I found the brand’s unique styles and affordable prices tantalizing, but worried it might be too good to be true. How can suits so pretty sell for under $30? Is the quality poor, or is Cupshe is the real deal?
Good Morning America recently featured CupShe’s collaboration with Bachelorette alum JoJo Fletcher. Then, there’s US Magazine calling one of Cupshe’s tummy-control suits “the ultimate swimwear find.” Curiosity nudged me on…
First, let’s go back in time a bit. My first experience with Cupshe was on Amazon (click here for the brand’s Amazon store) about a year ago. When I’m trying a new brand, I usually shop its Amazon store first, so I can return things easily. Additionally, I like to check the brand’s business ratings on sites like Trustpilot (Cupshe has a 4-star “great” rating there) or SiteJabber (another 4-star review).
I bought a couple of suits, including this one with 12,000 largely positive reviews. Those shoppers were right! It was flattering, modest and a compliment-magnet! Consequently, when Cupshe began to expand into beachwear, I was itching to try additional styles.
While the brand impressed me the first time around, I wanted to see if it was consistent. Cupshe invited me to shop its site and asked me to share my honest experience – good, bad and ugly. My $200+ order included a wide range of styles and cover ups.
Cupshe review spoiler – It surpassed my expectations!
This cover up was my favorite piece in the bunch. It is incredibly figure-flattering and feels elegantly elevated. It’s the kind of piece you want to bring to a fancy resort. Who’d ever guess, you only spent $22 on it? I added this belt to jazz it up, but it’s also beautiful without. Do yourself a favor and browse Cupshe’s cover ups. They have the most comprehensive selection I’ve seen yet!
Cupshe has been around since 2015. It’s fast fashion, but not some sketchy, fly-by-night website. Cupshe boasts one most popular beachwear storefronts on Amazon and even has celebrity fans. Stars like Olivia Culpo, Hillary Duff and Bella Thorne have worn the brand. However, it’s a bit tough to track down exactly where Cupshe is located.
It’s BBB listing notes a New Jersey address, while it’s name is trademarked by a China-based company. Most likely Cupshe is a Chinese company with US-based warehouses (this is actually quite common). I do want to mention one other thing because it really surprised me. In contrast to its positive perception on Amazon and elsewhere, Cupshe’s BBB rating is an F (though it has a 4.67/5 rating from customers).
My personal experience with the brand (as a paying customer and collaborator) has been wonderful, so I wouldn’t let this factor dissuade you from ordering. However, I’d stick with Cupshe’s Amazon storefront. It has almost all of the styles Cupshe offers on its main website. Additionally, many of those styles are available on Prime. This ensures quick and easy returns as well as speedy shipping.
This is one part of my Cupshe review I can answer with an emphatic YES! While I was expecting thinner fabrics or perhaps uneven stitching, my suits were perfect. I don’t say that lightly – I mean it! On each piece, the fabrics were thick and supportive. They had padding in the right places and just the right amount of stretch. Another minor thing I really love? Cupshe attaches its tags to the suit with a removable string, rather than sewing it in. Itchy tags are a pet peeve of mine.
In my opinion, sizing is another win for Cupshe. Not only is it more size-inclusive (available up to 4x) than most affordable swimwear brands, but also more consistent suit to suit. I typically wear a size small in department store swimwear. That’s exactly what I wear on Cupshe’s website. Every suit I ordered (both one and two-pieces) fit as expected.
There were a few minor variations. For instance, I felt like the top of the blue/white ruffled bikini fit a bit more tightly than the others, since it pulls over your head rather than fastening in the back. However, that’s a small nuance rather than a “doesn’t fit me” issue. Cupshe does a much better job with sizing than other affordable swimwear brands.
Personally, the only Cupshe items I’ve returned were pieces I purchased from the brands Amazon store. Consequently, the process was quick and easy. If you buy from Cupshe’s website, it’s more complicated but not overly so. The company will provide a USPS return label for you. You print, then stick that label on your return package. Here’s the official Cupshe Returns Policy:
Before we wrap things up, I wanted to share links to everything I ordered a few notes about whether it was a hit or miss.
Yes, Cupshe is legit. In fact, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you order. This is now a go-to brand for me and one I wholeheartedly recommend to my bargain-hunting friends. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to DM me on Instagram @anchoredinelegance. I’m always happy to help!
