Feels kinda funny to begin talking about swimsuits and beach days in July. However, in many ways summer is just getting started! Certainly, 2020 is no ordinary year. I put on a swimsuit for the first time last week… and it reminded me to do this much-requested post: The Best Amazon Swimsuits of 2020.
Swimwear can be tricky to shop for and expensive. As my hubby would say, how can someone charge so much for so little fabric? Enter Amazon. I was slow to jump on this bandwagon, assuming cheap swimsuits = cheap material + flimsy, unflattering construction. Sometimes that is the case, but there are also some serious gems out there!
Ruffle Bandeau Suit ($25)
I needed a new suit, so I bought quite a few under $35 options (returned some, kept more than I intended… oops). I read reviews religiously when shopping online. So, here are the best Amazon swimsuits of 2020 based on my perspective and that of other shoppers… Obviously, swimwear is kind of like jean shopping – preferences are highly individualized.
However, I’m hoping this post gives you a better sense of what these suits will look like on a non-model body. I can certainly vouch for their quality. Highly impressed by every one of these. For sizing reference, I’m short (under 5′), flat chested, but curvier in the hips/butt area (typically a size 2 in dresses/pants and an XS in tops). I’ll try to provide as much fit detail as possible, including what I ordered. If you have a specific question I don’t answer, drop a comment below and I’ll answer.
This first high waisted ruffle suit might be my favorite of the bunch. It’s is really well made. The fabric is supportive and the cut offers just the right amount of coverage (I’m not a huge fan of cheeky suits). It offers a fun retro vibe. You feel rather elegant wearing it. Definitely a statement piece. It wasn’t in stock when I ordered, so I had to wait 2 weeks – but it was worth it!
The suit comes in black, blue, green, pink, yellow, and red. The halter strap and cups are removable It closes with a metal clasp in back. Flat-chested gals you will love how this piece adds curves up top, while slimming your lower half with the alternating stripe pattern below. If you are super curvy in the bust area, this probably isn’t the suit for you. The top will likely feel too narrow.
Any list of the best Amazon swimsuits must include this beauty! To put my adoration for it in perspective, I ordered it in two other colors (white and blue/pink striped). It is quite figure flattering and you can get it fast. It’s a free one-day delivery on Prime.
For $25, I did not expect quality construction – but this has it. The bottoms are thick and hold you in well. They also stay put. If you want a suit that allows you to run around on the beach without exposing anything, this is a fabulous option. As a mom, I particularly love the coverage the higher waist provides. It gives you nice definition in your waistline, while concealing the tummy area.

Moving on to the one-piece suits… If you haven’t tried CUPSHE yet, I definitely recommend this Amazon seller. I really like all of its styles, but especially this faux-wrap design. It feels timeless and classic. The deep V in back looks simply gorgeous with your hair up. You know you will be able to wear this style for years to come! It’s also flattering on a wide range of body types.
It comes in my orange color, a green variation and burgundy/pink. I was a bit concerned about the white portion and sheerness. However, it isn’t see through at all, even when wet. The fabric is quite thick and the internal cups cover you really well.

Finally, we can’t skip a fun print on our list of the best Amazon swimsuits. As evidenced by this previous post, I might have a thing for palm print… few things make you feel so summery! With its plunging V neck and darling tie back, this palm print one-piece offers plenty of visual impact. The cascading ruffles allow you to choose how much you reveal. I tend to use them to conceal/minimize the deep V, but that’s up to you.
