When someone labels their product “perfect” my reporter brain immediately leaps into action. Call it a professional hazard, but I’m a bit of a skeptic. I like to do my homework when someone makes a huge claim – and shoe designer Sarah Flint did just that! She laid all her chips on the table, calling her Sarah Flint pumps “The Perfect Pump.”
A heel can’t actually be perfect… or can it? We’re going to do a deep dive to discover if the Sarah Flint Perfect Pump lives up to its name and price point. Moreover, we’ll talk about why it makes sense to invest in a pointed toe nude pump in the first place. [Spoiler alert – This shoe is the most comfortable heel in my closet!]
These shoes were gifted, but this is not a sponsored post. I am sharing my honest experience with Sarah Flint to help you make more informed shopping decisions – and simply because I’ve been so impressed with mine!
In the course of running this blog, I’ve done a bit of personal styling. My clients always ask the same question: What shoe should I wear with this? They want to know what will be most flattering on their frame. Ladies, the answer is universal!
This style of shoe gives you the most bang for your buck. Whether you’re petite looking to elongate your frame… or curvy looking to visually slim your frame, nude pumps are your best option. Why? These shoes blend in with your skin color, creating one seamless, unbroken line. The pointed toe doubles down on that effect, visually lengthening your body and creating the appearance of a more slender leg, foot, and ankle.
Nude heels, like the Sarah Flint Perfect Pump 85, are also practical. They are appropriate for every season and can effectively anchor a busy outfit. They let bold patterns or colors take center stage. There’s a reason style icons, like Kate Middleton, gravitate to the nude pump. It’s eternally elegant! Now, let’s dive into the shoe at hand…

Sarah Flint is a luxury shoe brand that has built a tall reputation in a relatively short amount of time. Her styles are handcrafted in Italy and known for their extreme comfort and classic elegance. You may have spotted them on the likes of Cindy Crawford, Amal Clooney, Halle Berry, Meghan Markle, Margot Robbie, Lady Gaga and Emma Roberts, to name a few. However, you don’t have to be Hollywood elite to enjoy Flint’s innovative designs.
Normal women (myself included) are rocking them too, thanks to the brand’s direct-to-consumer strategy which helps keep this luxury item attainable. In fact, I’m teaming up with fellow petite (Beth Ferguson of SAS For Short) to show what makes these shoes different. While I’m examining and reviewing the Sarah Flint pumps, particularly the Sarah Flint Perfect Pump 85, Beth is taking a look at my other favorite – the Perfect Jay. Read her post here.
Absolutely! As luxury footwear, Sarah Flint pumps are certainly a splurge. However, you need to consider cost-per-wear. This is the type of shoe you will wear forever. I mean that quite literally! These are built like a tank (hello steel rod stiletto). Moreover, they will never go out of style. These will be just as beautiful and flattering 20 years from now.
However, it’s not just about looks with this shoe. It’s the comfort-factor that really hooked me. I am wearing the Perfect Pump 85 in Sand Calf. It is hands-down my most reached-for shoe! I can be on my feet all day in these. No blisters, no aching, no squished toes. If you’ve ever uttered the words “beauty is pain” or assumed gorgeous footwear is always uncomfortable, these will make you reconsider. Pretty shoes do not have to hurt! The key is finding a pair with quality construction and attention to detail.
And my goodness are Sarah Flint shoes beautiful! Have you seen the new winter collection yet? Some of the most uniquely feminine designs I’ve seen in a long time.
I got a taste of that laser focus last spring, when I had the opportunity to have coffee with Sarah Flint in Indianapolis. Her obsession with fit and durability is remarkable. She doesn’t just create a pretty design. She puts it through the ringer, with round after round of prototyping and fit-testing.

Wider Toe Box – The Perfect Pump has more room in the toe area to prevent crowded, squished toes
Extra Padding – To the tune of 6mm! This cushioning makes a huge difference.
Anatomical Arch Support – You’ll notice a pretty significant shaped insole that supports the natural arch of your foot.
Steel Rod Stiletto – Have you ever snapped a stiletto? It’s practically impossible with this reinforcement!
Multiple Height Options – You can snag a perfect pump in 3 different heights (the 85 mm I’m wearing, 50 mm, or 100mm)
V-Shaped Vamp – The slight V-shape above your toes provides a hint of toe cleavage and visually slims your foot.
A quick note about the sizing of Sarah Flint pumps. These come in Italian sizes, so the chart will look a bit different from what you may be used to. However, there are detailed “fit tips” for each individual shoe to help you identify your perfect fit. They should fit snuggly at first and will stretch in width with wear. I typically wear a U.S. size six and followed the brand’s suggestion to size up a half size. I ordered the 36.5. It wound up being a perfect fit!
Now, it’s time to turn things over to Beth… Like me, she has an appreciation for classic style and easy elegance. Be sure to check out her review of Sarah Flint’s Jay Pump.
