Vacation Styles: My Most ‘Asked-About’ Looks

Vacation styles: Most Asked-About Looks

When you’re flying a budget airline, you’ve got to choose vacation styles strategically. Can you skirt by with just a “personal item” or do you have fashions that are well worth the $2o carry-on fee? Bet you can predict my answer! Vacation should be fun. Consequently, I wanted to share the two key items I always pack for warmer climates. No matter how tight my bag is, these pieces make the cut!

If you have a winter respite ahead, I highly recommend giving them a go. They are compliment magnets, universally flattering, and really turn heads. More importantly, their playful nature will make you smile. Need proof? I’m grinning like a school girl in the video below!

My 2 Favorite Vacation Styles

These are not new items, but so many people were asking about them, I thought it might be time to dish. Yes… I packed light. However—much to my frugal husband’s dismay—I paid for a carry-on specifically so I could wear these! I was visiting family in Sarasota, Florida and wanted an outfit that matched the area’s beautiful surroundings. Enter the Splendor of the Sunset Maxi Dress (nearly 50 percent off right now) and the Applause of Ruffle Skirt. Here’s a prior post discussing why I love Sarasota so much.

Let’s start with the pleated maxi dress…

When it comes to vacation styles, you can’t beat this number! It brings to life the glorious colors of mother nature, while feeling easy-breezy and relaxed at the same time. You can indulge in great meals without feeling restricted. Got a food baby after dining out? The pleating ensures no one will see it! The fabric is quality and flows beautifully. In fact, I guarantee you’ll do a twirl of happiness.

The beauty of this particular piece is its versatility. Yes, the material leans formal and is great for evening with heels and a pretty clutch. However, if you ditch the heels for flat gold or nude sandals… it also feels at home walking a beach boardwalk.

As a really short girl (under 5′), this dress also appealed to me because it comes in regular and petite lengths. So many maxi dresses drag on the ground for me. It was refreshing to have one work immediately without alterations! Fits true to the sizing guide, so read carefully.

Now, a flirty ruffled skirt…

must-have vacation styles

This blue skirt just screams fun in the sun. The subtle striping and playful nature of the design will instantly put you in a more relaxed mindset. Best of all, the cascading ruffle helps elongate your body and narrow your waistline. At 5′, I almost felt tall. There’s a reason it’s a blogger favorite!

This skirt runs a bit slim in the waistline, so read the sizing guide closely. I’d recommend opting for the larger size if you are between sizes. For reference, I am wearing the XS. It fits fine, but is just a tad snug in the waist. I should have gotten the S to accommodate all the good things I like to eat on vacation.

Do have go-to vacation styles? I’d love to hear YOUR must-haves!
